A partnership between CACL and CASDA, the Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) initiative has achieved another round of excellent results in the second quarter of 2017.
RWA continues to demonstrate much success in reaching and exceeding its targets, with the following outcomes achieved during April – June:
- initial engagement efforts were undertaken with 473 employers, and follow up with 266 employers
- 128 employers made a commitment to hire, with 49 hires now in progress
- 173 employment outcomes were achieved, including 149 hires (full-time – 83, part-time – 66), self-employment – 15 and 9 Post-Secondary admissions
- in addition to the 149 hires (of greater than 15 hours per week) there were another 23 hires (of less than 15 hours per week)
Since the program began in 2014, RWA has engaged 7200 employers and over 1300 employment opportunities have been filled by persons with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including many positions with national employers such as Costco, Home Depot, Purolator, Sodexo, and Value Village.
