I am a parent of a fine young man with a brain injury. As an Educational Assistant at a high school, I encounter many individuals with so much to contribute to our communities.
I am passionate about employment opportunities for students transitioning from school to community and ensuring they have a good life after school. I firmly believe you need to build a strong support circle made up of family and friends to help you and your family navigate the system and be there for you when you need them whether for an empathetic ear or to help you make it to the next step in life. I joined the PEI ACL Board to learn more, to advocate for those who need it and to feel that I have somehow contributed to ensuring people with disabilities lives have been affected in a positive way for my contributions as a volunteer.
